ABOUT THE ROLE:
The KA Group is a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of earthmoving scrapers and accessories for the construction, mining, and agricultural industries. The Company is composed of three brands, namely K-TEC, Ashland Industries, and Metalcraft, with the brands’ products being differentiated by size, target markets, and the technologies offered. KA Group maintains manufacturing and warehouse facilities in Manitoba and Wisconsin.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accept incoming shipments, inspect for damages, and verify quantities against purchase orders.
• Organize and maintain inventory in storage areas, ensuring items are easily accessible and properly labeled.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move materials safely within the facility and during the unloading and unloading of trucks.
• Pick, pack, and prepare materials for shipment according to order specifications.
• Conduct regular checks on materials for quality and accuracy, reporting any discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and receipts.
• Adhere to safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
• Keep work areas organized and clean, following proper disposal procedures for waste materials.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as shipping and receiving, to coordinate material flow.
• Perform routine maintenance on handling equipment and report any malfunctions.
• Supply welder with necessary materials
• Assist with moving materials in/out of inventory and inventory cycle counts.
• Kitting materials.
• Load/unload plate steel and parts on and off the plasma table.
REQUIREMENTS
• Mechanical aptitude and basic problem-solving skills for understanding of root cause analysis.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills and a proactive approach to completing tasks.
• Capacity to maintain focus and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills for job costing and input of other data crucial to tracking KPIs.
• Standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
• Effectively and safely operate a variety of assigned tools and equipment.
• Able to perform repetitive tasks; high physical activity
• Able to bend, kneel, stoop, stand, reach, climb, twist and/or crawl
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted as required.
• Able to work in areas regularly exposed to high noise level and vibration.
• Must be comfortable and able to perform tasks working at heights and on ladders.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Manufacturing: 2 years (Preferred)
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent safety and housekeeping practices.
• Experience with ISO standards or similar quality management systems is a plus.
• Experience in forklift operation.
• Experience in rigging and overhead crane operation.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• The role involves working in a noisy, dusty environment and requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• May require occasional overtime and weekend work depending on production schedules.
• 4 day/10-hour shift work week
