ABOUT THE ROLE:
K.A. Group is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our Finance team located in the Ashland Industries facility. The Accountant will work closely with senior Finance staff to facilitate accurate and timely financial reporting. The role is ideal for an individual looking to gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, account reconciliation, payroll, and general accounting functions.

The KA Group is a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of pull-pan earthmoving scrapers and accessories for the construction, mining, and agricultural industries. The Company is composed of three brands, namely K-TEC, Ashland Industries, and Metalcraft, with the brands’ products being differentiated by size, target markets, and the technologies offered. KA Group maintains manufacturing and warehouse facilities in Manitoba and Wisconsin. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, durable equipment that meets the unique needs of earthmoving operations, no matter the scale or complexity. The K.A. Group was acquired by Kinperium Industries in January 2022.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Process journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Perform account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
• Support accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
• Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness for the organization’s payroll in accordance with policies and procedures
• Process payroll accurately and on time for all team members. In addition, assist supervisors and associates in the resolution of payroll issues.
• Assist in preparing tax filings and regulatory reports.
• Help with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial procedures and reporting needs.
• Provide support during internal and external audits
SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Degree (Bachelor’s or Associate’s) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience (experience in payroll administration is a plus but not required).
o More experienced candidates are encouraged to apply as alternative positions may also be available within the K.A. Group.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (U.S. GAAP).
• Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office software, in particular Excel and Word, as well as accounting software/ERP systems.
• Experience with ADP payroll software is a definite asset.
